But not the road runner. LINE COUNT 35
It is irrefutable
that when the cable
Is broken, one is unable
to discern, above the babel
the dulcet tone on the phone.

Just think about it.
You hear merely a bit
before the connection does quit
conversation's not a hit.
"Come for my party, we'll eat real hearty."

What a good egg.
Inviting me for a peg
But I do beg
A call on a better line
I didn't get the date, place or time

"Please come at BEEP o'clock,
on the BEEPteeth of May
take a BEEP turn at the signal
And you'll be going the right way."
I think I deserve another learning curve

Who was it calling?
It was Mrs. BEEP.
Call her back? No call trace
And couldn't hear a peep.
I want to attend! Please call back, friend!

The suspense is unbearable
Will I miss the spread at the table?
Will the feast be worth a fable?
And enough barrels to fill a stable?
I couldn't hear! I fear I'll miss all the beer!

Oh, cheer cheer, dear
The phone is ringing, the line is clear!
The party draws near
Filled with laughter, not a tear
Now this poem is done - saying I had a lot of fun! *Bigsmile*
