Life is full of great sounds. Sometimes a degenerative hearing loss is unpreventable.
Do you know how it feels to lose your hearing
To not be able to hear the alarm clock in the morning
To only see your husband's lips move when he
says that he loves you.

You miss the sounds of the kitchen when the
timer goes off for the food you are cooking
Or the oven's ring when the food is done
You cannot even hear the sound of bacon sizzling

There is no greater pleasure than of the cooing
of your baby who is pleased with his food
or the cry because his diaper is wet
or of his very first word, "mama."

Yes there are hearing aids
But sometimes batteries die
Hearing aids get lost
People do not know

If there was a song you would want to hear,
It is Happy Birthday
Or you might want to hear your child
read their first book

Listen to life now
Be good to your ears
Be courteous to the hearing impaired person
Stop! Look! and Listen!
