A moment of introspection.
Reflection

A look
At myself
In mirror’s view;
Who is this I see?
Three-day’s growth, tired eyes.
Lines of fatigue running deep,
Deeper than sleep can rest,
Deep as ocean’s depths
It seems to me.
Am I worth
A look?

A life;
It is mine.
What have I done
Outside of myself?
Decades passed in a flash,
Like lightning, with thund’rous clap
Sounding long, long after
The brilliance shone,
Rolling mem’ry
Of a flash,
A life.

A soul;
Is it mine?
What is it worth
And to whom does it
Belong? It must be mine.
I own all that my soul’s done
And all it’s failed to do,
My life of regret
And gladness, too,
All comprise
A soul.
