When the wrong ones are blamed

My words
tied by ropes
of misunderstanding,
bound by chains
of unchanneled emotions,
silenced by the illogical
noises of the masses.

And I wonder if I am now silent
because my words
will make no difference
or if I am a coward?
One voice is drowned out
and logic will never hold sway
over those who believe differently.

Pointless when my voice isn't heard
saying what no one wants to hear.
Tried. Was vilified: told
I have no right
to express my thoughts.
A tongue cut out,
a poet silenced.
