Grieving the loss of a friend.
On the window streaming rain droplets flow.

Rivulets run ‘long street curbs set in row.

Trees with green leaves on hidden branches blow

In the wind gusts. Signs waver to and fro.

Darkened sky adorned with ominous shroud,

Flashes of light, and thunder clapping loud.

A vain umbrella spreads o’er a small crowd.

Yet in my soul rests a still darker cloud

As raindrops fall seemingly without end;

So much my grief at the loss of my friend.
