I always try to keep it clean and just say hockey puck.
I blurted out a nasty word,
that one that rhymes with duck.
I always try to keep it clean
and just say hockey puck.

But I was all upset because
of that big traffic jam,
so at the time I didn’t think
or really give a... ham.

But that was not a good idea.
My son was in the truck.
And he was still awake for once,
and that was my bad luck.

Just then the traffic opened up
and we got through that mess.
What caused the tie-up to begin
was anybody’s guess.

My four-year-old grinned up at me
and I knew I was stuck.
For he kept saying that bad word.
I don’t mean hockey puck.

I told him that it wasn’t nice;
he should forget that word.
But you just try to change his mind.
You’ll find it is absurd.

When we got home he kept it up.
Yeah, still with the bad luck.
My wife gave me a searing look.
All I could do is duck.

Aah hockey puck
