a cinquain
n case you're not familiar, a cinquain consists of 22 syllables, distributed in lines of 2, 4, 6, 8, and 2 syllables. When I write these for novels, I attribute them to "The Missing Cinquains" by one Arpad Laszlo.




Like Candles

Just as
Candles cannot
Burn without fire, humans
Cannot live without a lover’s
embrace.
