Diet Dying Days

A careful diet I must eat
To be cautious of what I ought
But there is one day before me
That all may come to naught

Turkey, peas and carrots
Casseroles of green beans
Cranberries, potatoes mashed
Turnips, assorted greens

Rolls buttered aplenty
The thought makes me sigh
To drink there's tea and coffee
Later on there's cool-whip topped pie

What shall become of my diet
A catastrophe I dread
When it comes down to it
I should just hide under my bed
