Perhaps it is true.

Through the rivers of my mind memories float anew
some are very special, some sad, a few
they turn the winding curves, of long forgotten ways
and end up in the meadows of lost and lonely days

From the wandering meadow, through the forest deep
they cross the bridge of our restless sleep
across the skies of yesterdays, they slowly turn about
gently through the heart they find their way out

They linger in the valley of long-lost dreams
and sometimes drown in a bitter stream
from a river of remembrance, across the span of years
we always have a reason to let a memory near

The journey of a memory is a long and lonely one
a special recollection and then it is gone
