A walk through the forest of Autumn
The End of Life's Journey

I do not walk alone,
as I wander through the autumn forest
listening to the fall birds singing
their paeans
to the Creator of the universe.

I raise my voice in praise
to the All-Glorious Lord,
who has accompanied me
throughout
my life's weary journey.

I pause
to inhale the scent
of the autumnal equinox
and listen to the wind proclaiming
the joy of a bountiful harvest.

As I amble among the trees,
I listen to the crunch
of leaves celebrating a happy
and well-lived life.
