Time to roll the D.I.E. and make it explode. Hell yeah, that’s checkmate yo.
Who watches the watchers?
We all walk around constantly surveyed.
Trusting it's all for the greater good.
But who are we serving?
Are we cultivating a fear-based society?

What are all these methods supposed to achieve?
Are we any safer because of cameras?
Has it deterred crime and stopped it from occurring?

Has it forced people to think more creatively as to how to overcome obstacles?
Isn't that human nature?

Where is the forum for discussion on this?
When you question the norms, you often get labelled an asshole.

Is our public service truly impartial?
Who are our stakeholders?
Do they change with each party that is elected?
In BC, there is no conservative party, so do we truly have a balance
Or are we continuing down a lane that is one way and doesn't allow diversity of thought or opinion?

Diverting from what is "Canadian" will get you labelled as a racist, sexist, homophobic bigot.
And on and on.
Where is the balance?
Why are we not encouraged to question?

We are coached as to how to answer,
And what to think
And how to speak.
Are we having real conversations anymore?

We are gently nudged and encouraged
To just accept that we are moving forwards
Into some inclusive utopian future society
Where we are going to erase all traces of "evil" and racism and hate.

But that's all a fairy tale.
It doesn't exist.
It would end in an authoritarian state
Because you can't force people to all adopt and accept sameness without taking away their freedoms.

Freedom of speech encourages people to see and explore "darkness" as well as "light".
You can't have one without the other and making people suppress their words
And true thoughts and opinions diminishes them and discourages discussion.
We descend into dystopia
Maybe we are already there.

Living in a combo of 1984 and Animal Farm.

I see it everywhere.

Words matter.
People matter.
It's not about raising one group above another.
It's about being human.
Being real and authentic.
Not being coached on how to be and how to talk.

We have replaced "high-English society" with this new "diversity, equity, and inclusion" stuff.
There's good points, but I feel it is exclusory to many people
Who think differently and are willing to openly discuss and explore
Beyond the surface of this new movement
Which seems nice on the surface, but I feel perhaps may be influenced
By other forces with their own agendas.

Who are these stakeholders in governments?
Do they really have the best interests of the citizens of the world in mind
Or is it their own best interests?
Do they really embody a diverse public
Or just how they have defined diversity, equity, and inclusion?
