Grateful Dead Blues Express It In Eight

The black witch
Was carving a pumpkin
Eating candy corn In the graveyard
With her familiar, a black cat
Her friend the Grim Reaper
Was chatting with a COVID ghost
While a skeleton danced to the
Grateful Dead blues.

TOPICS

If you’re like me, you have written many, many, many Halloween, Fall, Christmas, and Snow poems. The topics come back around regularly!

However, today IS INDEED Halloween, and I made a list of some Halloween symbols:

carved pumpkin
witch
black cat
grim reaper
ghost
skeleton
gravestone
candy corn

Sooo, I have an idea! Use one or more of the above symbols (or those of your own choice) to inspire your poem, BUT the poem SHOULD NOT be connected to Halloween in any way. Good luck!
( But if you simply MUST write a Halloween poem, don't fight it. Go with your heart! )
