Circa 1995
The moon against the darkened sky
looks like a bright bloodspot that is
slowly bleeding its light onto the earth.
Creatures run in terror
but my eyes are rooted in fear.

The souls of the trees
silently call for me,
reach out to me for help,
but I can do nothing.

The bloody light of the moon
dissolves everything in its path.
I can't escape;
there's nowhere to run.

It enshrouds me in a murky fog and
I feel myself slipping away.
Grasping for a hold,
but I can feel nothing.

I melt away into my mind.
Thoughts of darkness take over
and I slowly dissipate and become
just another insignificant drop
of bloody moonlight
