My view on transitioning into adulthood
When i was a kid, I'd sit and watch the clouds go by
Wondering what was going on in the sky.
Now all i do is sit here and wait
Wondering if I'm too late.
Now all the strength i can muster
Is no longer wasted on wonder
I am black clouds and melancholy
Everything i see no longer lovely.
There is no wonderment left
Only spaces where I have wept.
I am a hollow shell of what i once was
When loved ones ask why all i can say is "because"
Where did the childlike wonder go?
I don't think I'll ever know...
