Korean Venice Canal

Many years ago
In the U.S. there was a fad
Of creating fake Venetian canals
In housing districts with Italian names.
I lived in one in the late ’70s
They were everywhere back in the ’80s.
Now in Gimpo Korea, there is a fake Venice canal
Lined with restaurants outside my door.
