Doing what we can

I am thankful for what I have,
It is more than many
I am thankful for the doctors,
Who try to make the suffering end
I sit in my warm and dry room,
Trying not to get any fatter,
When many children cry
Because they have no food
I am thankful I can hear
The children, because then
There is a chance to stop the pain.
If we can only hear,
If we can only see,
What others are experiencing,
Surely a hungry child crying,
Can move us to,
Do what we can.
