A Winter Sport

The snow is falling
All day and throughout the night
Deeper every hour

I cannot see far
The sidewalk, street, nor my car
The snow keeps falling

It's time, I must leave
Snow shovel or snow blow now
A winter sport, yes.

I do this myself
Scoop, shovel, clear a wide path
It is cold and hurts

Aching back and arms
At last I can see my car
But I have no gas

Go back in and rest
tomorrow is far away
I will just stay home.
