A poem of love
Mr. Dinglejohn and Miss Bellsnickel
Were neighbors in the city
One had a large brown dog
The other a small white kitty

They sat and talked for hours on end
Drank tea and ate gingerbread cake
Watched the gulls and sailboats
Out by Meyers Lake

Mr. D and Miss B
Were a couple to see
He was 4`2 and
she was 6`3

He had a small white mustache
That he twirls in his hand
She thought him very devonaire
He thought her very grand

They never argued, they never fought
They seldom disagreed
They took each day one at a time
And lived a life of ease

They never did get married
And lived in separate places
You could tell they were in love
By the look upon their faces

To this day they remain the same
Even though they live apart
It doesn’t take marriage to have love
Just a caring heart.
