Drafted a quick poem to get started here, about an imperfect partner losing their love.
In all fragments of a scattered dream,
I awake with your scent in mind.
As the vision of you blocks out the world,
For this love has struck me blind.

Our beginning felt so careless,
As our words grew care-free,
Then I became so heartless,
A measure of man in infamy.

Your perfection was my seduction,
I bear a past that only time could scold.
In those eyes I saw the deductions,
Never mine to have or to hold.

Haunted by these mistakes,
Up to the moment I found you.
My intent was to make a difference,
These were delusions of grandeur.

I am left with an impression,
Of a hole through the heart.
You plunged me into obsession,
I was doomed from the start.

Now you’re gone,
And too far to call.
I’m undeserving of happiness,
And still feeling the fall.
