A poem for my last relationship and a conclusion to 'Loving You'.
I remember when you revealed your feelings
You gave me a note on the way home
I was in my room when I read
It left me so confused
How am I supposed to know how I feel

I remember when I returned your affection
In your upstairs bedroom
Carefully and quietly, we talked it out
Scared your mother would hear
But we continued, hopeful for something more

I remember all our good and bad days
The days we could be ourselves
And the days we hid from our parents
Your mother knew despite our efforts
But we still had a few special moments.

I remember when it all became too much
The pressure and stress overflowed
We did our best to work through it
But only rarely could we see each other
We tried our best anyways.

I remember that last conversation
We both agreed that it wouldn't work
No matter how much we wished
Maybe another place, another time
But for now, it's the end.

But with every end comes new beginnings
We continue our friendship
Navigating it from a new perspective
I don't know what the future has in store for us
But if you stay, I know it'll be okay.
