A flash fiction of 127 words length
Then she slammed the door in my face. I backed away and a smile made its way onto my face.
I remembered too fondly the time when she was little. There was one day, a beautiful summer day, when I noticed the same thing I was noticing now.

The sun had been beaming with my daughter. The table was set and the forks glistened in the sunlight. A chocolate cake stood on the garden table, black as a crow, the candles on it burning away without anyone noticing.

One. My daughter became one and I could hardly believe it. But time is like that. It runs away from us. Enjoy the moment, I thought to myself at the time.

And that's exactly what I was doing now.
