We can still lead through the darkness.
It’s right in front of you now
Don’t get left behind
Don’t let it escape this time
Don’t let it slip away
Between my fingers
And into the night

Warm soft tendrils spill through my hands like thick water, like blood,
But whose blood is it?
The blood of the world, of mother earth
She screams out through eruptions and volcanic explosions
Then a giant cloud of dust covers the earth and it is only darkness.
The ashes rain down and cover all the lands and waters,
Everything is painted in a sea of black.

Crisscrossing away through valleys and over mountains the spider forms a web.
It entombs them, enslaves them
An eternity of deep slumber within the belly of the beast.
Locked inside now, we’ve all gone away.
