Entered into a poetry contest- what do you think?
You were always right
No matter what I did
I was always in the wrong
You always put yourself above me
I knew it was all my fault
You screamed
You hit
You threw things
And were verbally threatening
How could I ever live up to your expectations
I saw the looks my friends and family gave me
Because while I was with you
You were alright, civil
But as soon as I turned my back
You started spreading vicious lies about me
Soon I had no one to turn to
Except to you
You fed off my fear
Until you were like the remnants of an oil spill
Poisoning the life beneath
Until everything is dead
You have no idea of how scared I am of you
And will never leave
Because no one else will ever want me
