A good bye to a dear friend
I got a bird in a box,
It's a pretty little thing,
It's plumage a speckled brown,
And a beak of gold.

I got a bird in a box,
It makes a lot of noise,
When it sings it hurts,
So I sealed it all up.

I got a bird in a box,
It's been years since I've seen it,
But it's still alive and keeps tweeting,
I get scared when it chirps.

I got a bird in a box,
It's been makin' a fuss.
No matter the tape I stick on it,
It's wanting to be free.

I got a bird in a box,
I am letting it go,
A bird is not supposed to be boxed,
It's supposed to fly free.

I got a bird in a box,
But the box is open,
This beautiful being with speckled feathers,
Has flown off and is free.

I have no bird in a box,
No singing or chirping,
But it left me an egg,
The box is not empty.

Goodbye Jenna Ellen, I will miss you
