To speak and be understood...Oh, how I miss it.

The Death of Friendship

3/28/23

I have said "if this is the end,

let it be the end,"

But here I lay,

my spine aches from the tug of my calloused hands on a rope you've tied to an anchor

of all that could've been.

You escaped me in silence,

and when I awoke, I found a letter full of emptiness.

Between every forced line read the truth.

Was it easier to pretend you were not looking for a way out?

You left. I am still here. I will always be here.
