Mind reading could be tricky. This poem did not turn out as I hoped. So I may edit it.
If I could read someone's mind I think that would be
The man who is my husband, to see what he thinks of me.
He thinks that he's so smart
I bet he'd fall apart.
But when he talks to friends,
He says what he intends.

He likes to tell some jokes,
For the laughs that they evokes.
I would say a brand new pun
Before his first line is ever done.
Or maybe he repeats
A story that is obsolete.

He may not want to play
A game that he agreed to play that day.
But feign a big sore neck
Just to get me to give him a rain check.
I'd offer to let him know
That the emergency room is where we'll go.

But privacy of thoughts is a special rule
For our happiness should be he golden rule
And I hope that he can't read my mind
Because there are some secrets he should not find.
