A show down between a boy and a racoon
He's looking at you with those beady eyes,
His nose twitches and he seems to smile.
Why is he staring so intently?
So still and unmoving.

You look back at him just as strong,
Your eyes blink but stay focused.
You will not give anything up, not a thing,
Don't even try it Mr. Racoon!

Suddenly, Racoon's paw twitches,
your hand moves in response.
He will not beat you, not this time,
You are ready for a fight.

Suddenly you both lunge forward,
the sandwich silently beckoning.
The aroma of blackberry jam on Peanut butter,
swiftly disappears into the abyss.
