The Long Road Ahead

In search of joy, we wander far and wide,
Through darkened forests and valleys deep and wide,
We seek the light that may our souls ignite,
And lead us from the shadows of the night.

With every step, we strive to leave behind,
The pain and sorrow that may our hearts bind,
But in our quest for happiness and glee,
We often find ourselves lost and empty.

For the road that leads to joy is long and harsh,
And filled with obstacles that may our souls marsh,
The thorns of doubt and fear may wound our hearts,
And tear us apart with their cruel darts.

But still we press on, our eyes fixed on the prize,
A glimmer of hope that may our spirits rise,
We face the darkness with a steadfast will,
And conquer our fears with a mighty thrill.

Yet, as we reach the summit of our quest,
And bask in the glow of our hard-earned success,
We find that happiness is fleeting and frail,
And fades away like a mist in the gale.

For true joy lies not in what we seek,
But in the journey that may our souls tweak,
In the moments of love and grace we share,
And the bonds of friendship that we hold dear.

So let us not chase after happiness in vain,
But seek the beauty that may our lives sustain,
For in the end, it is not what we possess,
But what we give that brings us true happiness.
