Grief for a loved one
It's not been the same since you left
I search for a sign
Something to say you're still there
There's an emptiness inside of me
I know it was your time
But you left a family
That got torn apart
Selfishness reared it's head
Hateful words were said
I'm glad you couldn't see
What your favourite son did for all to see
That a daughter feared a brother
And me
The granddaughter who loved you so much
What I did to help all through this loss
Grief was brief for me
I put it aside to manage funerals and wills
I couldn't breath watching your body lowered into the ground
I held back tears to be strong for everyone
It's been over a year since you left
I still look for you when I'm scared
When I'm lost
But you're not there
I need you now more than ever
I miss our talks
Our walks down town
But you're not here
I need to grief
I need to accept that your gone
But I will always miss you
