A poem about taking back your power
I will dance at the end of the world
and I will take up space
I will crowd out your intentions
and expectations
I will take up space
Walking proudly past your fake smiles
Lying lips leaving a snails trail
Of violent untruths
And I will still take up space
I do not walk alone
My ancestors shadow my steps
They have seen all this before
Their murmuring a soft insistence in my ears
They wrap; me in wisdom and love
Shielding me from your oppression
And still I take up space and bitch you will move
As you worship my sway
If only
Because I came with an army of ancestors
And We walk
And we will not make ourselves small for you
