Finish one book, on to the next!

New Beginnings

I didn't want to write the first memoir.
I always figured that if
you wrote one, you'd drop in your tracks
after it was done.

My oh-so-wise son suggested
it was only Volume One.
Volume One?
I'd be safe if I were to write more.

What a relief!
So, One is out: On to Volume Two.
No point in waiting for a while--
On to the new adventures.

I'd already started a list of things
I forgot, neglected, or spaced on
including in One. Stories that still
needed to be told.

Then again, my oh-so-wise son
must be even smarter than I thought
because he knew I could never
include them all in just one book!

And those neglected stories
(How'd I ever leave them out?)
don't even include what has yet
to transpire. Because things happen.

Oh-so-wise son just smiles.
No reason there can't be a Volume Three.
Okay. Thus starts Volume Two:
Muddling Through.
