Road Song #4


day in and day out
matriculating the armpits and bowels of these hills
embraced by these mammoth winter wooley worms
that recede humping off into every direction
that i care to look
warmed only by the leafless trees furring
their dark and round bodies
they have plastered themselves to the afernoon's
orange-blue sky
hugging close the setting sun
creatures such as these could swallow and digest you
depending on your place of mind
