My grandson started making a time capsule to be opened in 20 years!
My little grandson Joey
Started out with a great plan -
He'd make a time capsule
And collecting all, he ran!

He took a package of bubble gum,
His sister's lock of hair;
And from his mom he begged
A shirt she used to wear.

He asked for grandma's book
One that she wrote herself;
And some little souveniers
That were sitting on the shelf.

His dad gave him an arrow
That he'd shot into the air,
A hunting knife and a quarter,
A stone that was quite square.

He placed it all inside a box
And took it home to bury.
It was so much he almost
Had more than he could carry.

Who knows the fate of Father Time
And if these things will last?
But in twenty years my grandson
Will see memories of the past.
