I put my son in the hands of God -

I put my son in the hands of God
When I could no longer hold him.
Heavenly Father, hold him close
You know the trouble he is in.

Fear, depression, and anger
Are keeping him from being
The kind of person he should be
He is half blind, half seeing.

His heart is full of bitterness
At what life has to offer
I know you can take that away
I am not here as a scoffer!

I believe in you, trust in you
To make him whole again.
Give him courage to go on
And his battles win!

Pick of the pieces of his dreams -
I know he is tired of trying.
You alone can save him now
In the hands of God he's lying.

Tired soul and damaged heart
He survived the operation;
He's traveled with you by his side
Way across this old nation.

He's worked so hard to make a life,
I hate to see him in despair.
But with your forgiving love
I know he'll be safe with you there.
