I let my chance for a romance with Karen pass by.

A Loving Chance

There in the midst of a quick stare.
I saw your sweet self sitting there.
I wanted so much to tell you hello.
But, I felt shy so I let my chance go.

Now you're here with my best friend.
At this church to be married to him.
I will play the part of his best man.
I know my heart will break within.

Why did'nt I give myself a chance?
To get to know you in a romance?
He wouldn't have cared at that time.
You did'nt know this friend of mine.

I must keep my secret hidden inside.
Not reveal my love that will never die.
I know you better through my friend.
It's increased the urge to hold Karen.

Love's a subject many author's write.
You're his wife but, I love you in spite.
I saw you first and I loved you the first.
You're his now my it could'nt be worse.

I will have to accept our love's not to be.
Though the pain hurts deep inside of me.
Karen, you know I will accept what I can.
But, if it's a friendship I will be happy then.

I can't pretend the two of you don't exist.
I will be your friend keep secret at my risk.
If I'm again blessed with another chance.
I'll remember you and our failed romance.
