I am who I am, and I don't care what you think of that
I am who I am
and I don't give a damn
what you think, what you say
'cause I am who I am anyway

You tell me I should
be someone I know I never could
be even if I tried
no matter how much I lied

You try to change me
into a person you believe I can be
even though you never knew
the me deep inside that is true

I don't know why you even try
to get me to change and lie
and make me someone other than me
a person only you seem to see

I am who I am
and I don't give a damn
what you think, what you say
'cause I am who I am anyway
