Advice before saying "I do". I wrote this a few years before my son got married.

Advice Before Saying IDo

September the twentieth
Is your wedding day--
Here is some advice
Your parents have to say.

Give your wife attention
It is a woman's need--
Show your appreciation
In action, word and deed.

Give her your approval
In all she wants to do--
Remember she is different
Yet, just as smart as you.

Hinder not her relationships
With family and friends--
You may hurt her in so doing
And lose her in the end.

Give your shoulder to lean on
When she has the need to cry--
Wrap your arms around her
Even if she has no reason why.

Value her opinions
Give a listening ear--
Compliment her often
Show her you're sincere.

Treat her with respect
And a great deal of love--
Lavish her with hugs and kisses
Be gentle as a dove.

Spend lots of time together
Delight and enjoy your wife--
You'll be a happy husband
If you follow our advice.

So give her your heart to hold
As she gives hers to you--
Your love can grow forever
Each day, let it renew.

Thank you ercole for this awardicon. We miss you here Richard and your kindness will never be forgotten.
