This is a rhyme about a little girl who didn't want any rules.
She didn't use her listening ears,
or her quiet feet.
She didn't don her thinking cap,
or sit still in her seat.
And so...

What did she do then, you think?
this bad little kid?
She packed up her backpack,
and went her merry way, she did.
"I'm outta here," she said.
"I know enough already."
The class was so glad she left,
They all threw up confetti!

First...
She spied the matches
ten all in a row,
she thought how great it would be
if she could see them glow!
Just once wouldn't hurt.
Who would really care?
So she leaned over, struck one,
and burned off all her hair!

And then...
Bad little bald little Kay
found a bottle on a table.
Too bad she could not read
it said POISON on the label.
She took a great big gulp
and began to jump about.
For when it reached her tummy,
it ate her insides out!

And then...
Bad little bald little
hollow little Kay
ran up stairs one day,
tripped and broke off both her legs
on a skate she didn't put away.
I don't care, thought she,
I can still go out to play.

And so...
Bad little, bald little,
hollow, broken little Kay
rolled out to cross the road
not looking either way.
Bad little, bald little,
hollow, broken little Kay,
now flat as a dime.
How did she get this way?

Don't you worry.
Don't you fret.
Don't worry your noggin
Not one little bit.
Don't cry your eyes out
Til your face is all wet.

Thank our lucky stars this time.
It's not a true story,
It's only a rhyme.
So if you'll sit on the carpet
criss-cross applesauce,
We'll cuddle up and giggle,
and read it one more time.
