When I think of my little burdens I remember my dad and all of his big burdens.

"God's Family Man"

What are the makings of God's family man?
Should he always do the very best he can?
Should he never gamble, cheat, or tell a lie?
Face his burdens and never take time to cry?

Even though it is a struggle almost everyday.
To feed and raise his big family with little pay.
As a child I didn't know or couldn't understand.
Most friends had riches placed in their hands.

When I feel burdened I think of my dear Dad.
How he worked everyday but, so little he had.
He left for work at dawn came home at dusk.
He never complained about how tired he was.

Dad had ten children four girls and six boys.
Yet he never complained about all the noise.
Dad set a good example for his kids to see.
He left no doubt of what he wanted from me.

So as my memories go back I can finally see.
Even with all his burdens he stood like a tree.
Are these the makings of God's family man?
Yes now here is my Dad at rest in this coffin.

When I feel burdened I think of my brave Dad.
About all of the troubles and burdens he had.
A strong man of steel who would never bend.
What he went through just to be a Dad of ten.
