A promise he desperately wanted to break
She is dying in his arms
She smiles up at him with sleepy eyes
tells him not to cry

Be strong, beautiful one
You are just beginning
I was over long ago

He doesn't agree
She knows that when her eyes close
He will try to save her
But for now he is helpless,
locked by a promise
To let her spend her last few moments
nestled in his arms

O my love!
I am sorry

She can feel his tears on her face
and squeezes him, gently

Would you kiss me?

He does so
and she smiles up at him with sleepy eyes
Sleeping eyes

<<Don't touch the phone, my love...
you promised
