We need to make sure we take oppotunities as they come
A chance missed

I can't play tonight
I know I said I would,
But that was before,
Before I heard the news.

He was fun and full of life,
many wished to share it, including me
But that was before,
Before I heard the news

Then one day , he left
Not without a word
But all the same,
Without a goodbye

He landed in a far off desert land
Among faces with fear in their eyes,
As like a spear he thrust
Into their side

Till one day while,
Laughing with his pals
His heart became fixed
In a snipers snare.

He was my son
And I wish ,
I’d told him of my love,
But that was before,
Before I heard the news.
