Spouses love but agree to separate because of adjustment problems
YOU AND I


Let us go then, you and I,
along our different ways.
Let us forget, you and I,
Those weary troublesome days.

True it is that you loved me
and that I did love you, too.
We are too independent;
this, also, is but so true.

Though we certainly did try
to strengthen the bonds of love;
maybe it was not ordained
to be so by God above.

Why should we blame each- other?
Why live superficial life?
Why suppress reality?
Why live as husband and wife?

Let us part in calm and peace,
with no tear in the eye;
so that if we meet again,
we meet as friends, you and I.
