Written for Round 2 of the Third Son of Slam Contest
TAJ MAHAL

Our hearts entwined eons ago,
We were always destined to meet,
This, our yearning for each other,
Was a beginning of our dreams

Together we walked the gardens,
Together we sang the songs,
Together we rowed the lakes
Together we righted the wrongs

I looked into your eyes,
I came into your arms,
I kissed you on your lips,
I gave in to your charms

You swept me in your embrace,
And said some beautiful things,
You gave me so much happiness,
My heart, it took to wings

And then I died and you,
Mourned for me and cried,
You wept and sobbed and grieved,
And in lonely nights, sighed

Remembering your vows to me,
You then swept the tears aside,
Calling world's best craftsmen,
You planned an edifice for me

Your grand vision fructified,
People see it and enthrall!
You created the ultimate Memorial-
A wonder - The Taj Mahal.
