As I was watching, a can of Raid™ ended the ant's bike race.
Writer's Cramp: bike race

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Bike Race
It was a most exciting event
That six-wheeled bike race down in Trent
When the ants all made their descent
Racing top speed along the cement.
I watched, a gaping spectator
Listening to the commentator
Explaining about the race’s creator
Who had been a nursery educator.
Streams of ants went by
Pedaling at speeds that mystify
How six legs can diversify
Yet, work so hard to unify.
I’m not just being overly polite
That race, it really did excite
Seeing all those ants in flight
On miniature bikes. What a sight!
I’d love to tell you how it ended,
That ant race that I once attended.
I can’t tell you how very splendid
Were the spectators whom I’d befriended.
But it ended before I could scream.
A can of Raid™ was a steady stream.
What an awful thing it seemed
Destroying all their self-esteem.
Ants dropped down on left and right.
Oh, what a terribly disappointing sight
As they all raced away at top flight,
And no ant finished at that racing site.
