A Pantoum, perhaps.
Puffing a stogie and casting away
frightened blue heron now lifts like a kite
leaves scent the air in Autumnal decay
pause in my questing to follow his flight.

frightened blue heron now lifts like a kite
stalking a pool where the speckled trout feeds
pause in my questing to follow his flight
floating a mayfly at just the right speed.

Stalking a pool where the speckled trout feeds
fooled by my offer, he strikes in a flash
floating a mayfly at just the right speed
jumps in a shower and down with a splash.

Fooled by my offer, he strikes in a flash
shimmer in silver and gold flicker mesh
jumps in a shower and down with a splash
rainbow of color that rests in my net.

Shimmer in silver and gold flicker mesh
gently I slip him back into the creek
rainbow of color that rests in my net
flipping his tail and gone in a streak.

Gently I slip him back into the creek
leaves scent the air in Autumnal decay
flipping his tail and gone in a streak
puffing a stogie and casting away.
