My brother Wayne who contacted lung cancer from Agent Orange, and succumbed to it in 2007.

The Climb

Dedicated to,
the memory of my brother, Wayne.

We've hunted in the Kentucky fields,
Worn sores on the back of our heels,
Fished in the muddy river overnight,
At times just getting a mosquito bite.

Played softball in a hot summer sun,
Gave it our best seldom winning one.
Stood by each other in deep sorrow,
wanted a better day for our tomorrow.

Served in the Army at the same time,
You in Vietnam, I served here behind,
Agent Orange, gave you lung cancer,
Only God knows the complete answer.

So here we stand at a mountain base,
We will climb it with God's Holy grace.
Should you get weak and want to stop,
I will carry you up to the mountain top.

So I know you fear this Cancer disease,
I'll stand by you then pray on my knees.
God almighty will show us His Holy way.
My brother, we must have faith and pray.

So God's watching us He's looking down,
He'll not forsake us He is always around,
Have faith my brother when it's your time,
You'll leave the Earth with God the divine.
