A Dodoitsu poem of a girl who lives too sheltered of a life.
Slow Death

By: Tracey Criswell Wilson

A Dodoitsu poem in 7775 syllables.

She is always so sheltered
She doesn't know what life is.
It slowly passes her by.
if...they only knew.

Her parents think they know best,
but there's a fine line in life;
to have such sheltered lives--
or allow freedom?

Life passes by her window;
silent tears slide down her cheeks.
If only they understood,
how much she craved life.

She tries hard to have friendships,
but her parents want her safe;
their hearts ache at her sadness.
Inside she's dying.
