Poetry about my life with my mother
Mother, don't you see how you hurt me,
Or do you even care?

Didn't you realize that I ran to my grandparents for comfort and love,
Or were you just oblivious to the facts?

Mother, How can you claim to love me,
When you cared about everyone else but me?

Don't you realize just how dysfunctional our family is?

I hurt everyday, not from physical pain,
But from the emotional pain.

The words you use hurt worse,
Than any physical blow you could inflict on me.

Please it has to stop.
I can't take it anymore.

Mother, Please open your eyes and really look at me.
I am your child also!!!!

I also need you to encourage, comfort and love me.

What did I do to deserve this treatment?

You had once told me that you had never wanted children.

Well now that I am all grown up with children of my own,
I have one question for you.

If you never wanted children,

THEN WHY AM I HERE?!!!!
