Across the fair green meadows of Austria
There lived a rabbit called Rabbit
Loved his life with his family he did
And had a friend called Spirit

They spent the hot summer days together
Then once Spirit said
We shall be friends forever
So very fondly he bobbed his head

How wrong he was he never knew
For the very next day he died
Rabbit's friends were left a few
So he cried and cried and cried

Across the fair green meadows of Austria
There lived a rabbit called Rabbit
Loved his life with his family he did
And no longer had a friend called Spirit

He went to his family and complained
They told him he was a rabbit
That he was very great
And didn't need a Spirit

His face turned red and very hot
He yelled with all his might
"I hope you all rot"
He wouldn't give up without a fight

Across the fair green meadows of Austria
There lived a rabbit called Rabbit
Hated his life with his family he did
And no longer had a friend called Spirit

He became very very sick
A terrible leg injury
Made him hobble with a stick
So he was in a fury

Quiet and quiet he became
A word he no longer said
Everyone admits he was not the same
A few weeks later they realized he was dead

Across the fair green meadows of Austria
There no longer lives a rabbit called Rabbit
