A new boy moves in on the block. Learn how one person made all the difference.
There's a new kid who moved in on the block,
He looks really funny because he wears silly socks.

I heard he came from another state.
He goes to my school, and he's always late.

There's never anyone near playing with him,
So I asked around and found out his name is Jim.

He walks home, shuffling his feet and looking all alone.
I gave him my number and told him to call me on the phone.

The phone rang, and mom said it was for me.
I knew right away who it was going to be.

I asked him if he could come out and play.
We had a good time until the end of the day.

Jim told me that he had been lonely and bored,
So he prayed real hard for a friend to the Lord.

We smiled and laughed because we had so much fun.
Tomorrow was Saturday we could play all day in the sun.

I went to bed and was very glad,
I made a new friend, the best I had.
